According to Article 30 of the new Emissions Trading System (ETS) Directive, there will be a review of the role of permanent carbon removals in the ETS before 2026.
1.How does the Commission view the future interaction between the ETS and the Carbon Removal Certification Framework?2.Concretely, does the Commission think that industries that are registered in the ETS compliance market should be able to buy carbon credits from the voluntary compliance market?3.Is this a possible future use of the Certification Framework?
