On 24-25 October, the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development will discuss the phytosanitary risk in citrus consignments from South Africa; access to quality food for all; occupational safety and health in agriculture, and the EU-New Zealand trade agreement.

AGRI will also consider a draft opinion on the industrial emission directive, and be briefed on the recent mission to Portugal and the inter-institutional negotiations on LULUCF. The Committee will also adopt a report on rural areas and four opinions on, respectively, resilient supply chains in EU trade; sustainable carbon cycles; the 2021-2027 MFF, and the reliability of audits and controls by national authorities in shared management. Members will also exchange with Mr Markian Dmytrasevych, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and attend a joint AGRI-INTA-ENVI hearing on the impact of the war on EU agriculture and food security.
