On 22 May, ENVI Members will hold their annual structured dialogue exchange with Frans Timmermans, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for the European Green Deal.

During this exchange, the Commissioner is expected to take stock of legislative files currently being dealt with by Parliament and Council, such as legislation on substances that deplete the ozone layer, fluorinated greenhouse gases and carbon removals, as well as on Packaging and Packaging Waste and microplastics. He will also likely present progress on legislative files in the area of zero-pollution as well as progress towards sustainable food systems and biodiversity protection. He will also address international developments in the area of climate, with special focus on COP28 and the impact of the war in Ukraine.
